What do Protestants say about early Christian writings?

A Protestant is one who protests against the Catholic church ways and desires to reform it. A Christian is one who will accept the Bible as the word of God and will speak where it speaks and be silent where it is silent. A Christian must turn to the Bible for authority on anything he does. Neither Protestants or Catholics do that, they add and take away from the Bible.
